Is Taco Bell Open on Thanksgiving? 2025 Guide
Thanksgiving is a busy holiday, and many people look for quick food options while traveling or picking up something simple for the day. Taco Bell is one of the most convenient fast food stops, but its holiday schedule is different from most restaurants. Knowing the exact Thanksgiving hours helps you plan ahead, especially because hours change by city and store type.
This guide gives you clear opening and closing details, menu availability, drive thru hours, city-by-city timing patterns, and expert tips to avoid holiday surprises.
Is Taco Bell Open on Thanksgiving
Most Taco Bell locations are closed on Thanksgiving. The company lists Thanksgiving as a holiday when the majority of its restaurants shut down. Only a few franchise-operated stores in high-traffic travel areas, airports, or major transit zones may open with limited hours.
Because Taco Bell has a mix of company-owned and independently managed franchises, each store decides its own schedule. This is why some locations appear open online while most remain closed.

|---|---|---|
| Closed | Closed | Most Taco Bell restaurants are fully closed |

These hours apply mostly to rare exceptions such as travel hubs, airport locations, and highway-area stores.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Availability
Since most Taco Bell restaurants remain closed on Thanksgiving, breakfast service is rarely available. At the few locations that do open, service usually begins in the late morning with a limited lunch menu. Evening hours are very short because holiday schedules often require stores to close earlier than normal. If you find a Taco Bell open in your area, visiting during late morning or early afternoon is the safest option for meal availability.
Why Taco Bell Hours Change on Thanksgiving
Taco Bell adjusts its Thanksgiving schedule due to several holiday and operational factors.
• Staff availability is low during the holiday
• Evening customer traffic is slower compared to normal days
• Franchise owners set their own store hours
• Travel areas receive higher and more consistent demand
• Local rules and mall policies can affect opening and closing times
These factors create different hours across regions and store types.
Taco Bell Thanksgiving Menu Availability
If a Taco Bell location opens, it usually offers a reduced menu that includes core items such as tacos, burritos, quesadillas, bowls, and sides.
Limited staff and low inventory may reduce the availability of specialty items.
Holiday openings focus on quick, high-demand items that can be prepared fast for travelers.
Popular choices on Thanksgiving include:
| Category | Item Name |
|---|---|
| Tacos | Crunchy Taco, Soft Taco |
| Burritos | Bean Burrito, Burrito Supreme |
| Combos | Chalupa Combo |
| Boxes | Classic Cravings Box |
| Drinks | Soft Drinks, Freezes (if available) |
Reduced holiday staffing often results in a simplified menu.
