Is Subway Open on Thanksgiving? 2025 Guide
Subway is one of the most popular fast-casual restaurants in the United States, especially during the holiday season when people want quick meals, lighter options or something to grab on the go. But Thanksgiving Day is different because Subway locations operate under franchise owners, leading to different schedules across states.
This guide explains Subway Thanksgiving hours, holiday menu highlights, the new Festive Feast collection, regional patterns and expert tips to help you plan your visit.
Is Subway Open on Thanksgiving Day?
Subway’s Thanksgiving hours vary. Some locations remain open with regular hours, while many others close fully for the holiday.
Since most Subway restaurants are franchise-operated, each owner decides whether to stay open, reduce hours or close for the day.
In large cities, travel hubs and busy neighborhoods, you may find open stores. In suburban and small-town locations, closures are more common.
Because of this variation, checking your nearest Subway is essential before visiting.
Subway Thanksgiving Hours 2025
Below is the general pattern most Subway restaurants follow during Thanksgiving week:
| Day | Status | Typical Hours | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thanksgiving Day, Nov 27 | Varies | Some open normal hours, many closed | Fully franchise dependent |
| Thanksgiving Eve | Open | Regular hours | Busy dinner rush |
| Black Friday | Open | Regular hours | Full menu available |
Subway does not have a centralized nationwide holiday schedule.
Subway Thanksgiving Day Schedule
Hours depend heavily on city size and franchise ownership. These are the common patterns:
Subway Thanksgiving Meal Schedule 2025
| Meal | Start Time | End Time | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Breakfast | Open hours only | Varies | Only at participating locations |
| Lunch | 10 AM | 4 PM | Most open stores follow normal lunch service |
| Dinner | 4 PM | Early evening | Only at locations that remain open |
If your local Subway opens on Thanksgiving, expect a standard menu instead of a dedicated holiday meal.
Subway Thanksgiving Menu Highlights
Subway does not serve a traditional turkey dinner, but it offers several holiday-inspired options during Thanksgiving week.
Popular menu items include:
• Turkey breast subs
• Rotisserie-style chicken subs
• Black Forest ham subs
• Toasted sandwiches and wraps
• Fresh Fit options
• Seasonal sauces and toppings
While the menu stays mostly standard on Thanksgiving Day, Subway introduces special holiday sandwiches every year.
Subway Festive Feast Collection (Holiday Special)
For Thanksgiving week 2025, Subway launched the Festive Feast Collection, featuring holiday flavors such as:
• Turkey with stuffing
• Rotisserie chicken with cranberry sauce
• Ham with herb-seasoned toppings
• Cranberry sauce and stuffing add-ons for only $1
• Limited-time holiday breads or sauces (varies by region)
These options add a Thanksgiving touch even in locations that don’t serve a traditional holiday meal.
Stores that remain open on Thanksgiving may offer these items throughout the day.
Why Subway Thanksgiving Hours Vary
Subway’s holiday schedule differs because:
• Most stores are independently owned
• Staff availability is limited on Thanksgiving
• Some neighborhoods experience low holiday demand
• Franchisees decide their own hours
• Travel-heavy areas see higher morning and afternoon traffic
These factors create different opening times across cities and states.
